GENTUT72.TXT General Tutorial for Lisa GJ2 Fic3 -- the f3 language explained as a series of tiny essays Written by Aristo Tacoma with L.A.H. Date: 2011:3:3 Numbers 01..99 in this series of gentutNN are circulated as needed, when more recently written articles make earlier ones unnecessary. Each article: copyright author, further distribution license the usual www.yoga4d.org/cfdl.txt. Kids: there are other tutorials for you. But you should find pieces here and there which are easy to read. In B9, use the search function, CTR-F or F4 within each. Beware ;-) This is written as a flow, quickly, and wherever there is a reference to concrete f3 syntax, it may have been written from memory and so not every word is guaranteed to be written here exactly correct. Search up with the CTR-F and repeated search CTR-L in the F3DOCS manual or in example programs if things here are not clear enough or precise enough for your present purposes. Good luck!!! ***AVOIDING HUBRIS IN HOW PROGRAMS ARE DESCRIBED -- AND AVOIDING IMPLYING BELIEF IN "ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE" It is a gigantic neopopperian proposition to claim of any computer program that it is smart. It is an even more gigantic proposition to claim of any computer program that it is smarter than human beings. What is done of current programming approaches in the industries on Earth in the 21st century has tons of hubris and little of smartness. Journalists ought to think twice before quoting computer programmers and their bosses who, eager to achieve prestige and/or money, claim that they have a "smart" product. A product involving a computer may outperform human beings on certain skills in certain areas -- as a statisticaly research result. This does not mean that they have got an understanding of smartness or intelligence as such. Indeed, the whole concept of artificial intelligence is wrought with a localist false metaphysics. It has been championed by people who, like the behaviourists who took to pre-quantum darwinism in their combat against the spiritualistic natural interpretations of quantum empirics -- apart from the mechanistic and nihilistic philosophies of Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr, respectively -- consider all activity in any location as entirely separate from all other activities except by push-pull mechanical forces operating gradually in moving effects from one place to another given some time. The whole notion of "artificial intelligence" is no more coherent than newtonian mechanics: it is crude, it is unphilosophical, and it breaks down in essence. There may be ways, indeed there are ways, in which -- given an intense understanding of what we here loosely can call synchronicity fields -- programs can be made so as to be said to participate in this, more or less fully, also with RFFG. That is however not achieved by those mindless so-called scientists who go about carelessly talking about "simulation of mind": they are but simulating idiocy. In order to stimulate and honor the human mind so that it can get more enlightened, -- and its enlightenment, when it comes, is always relative; and it has not come -- so we are talking of stimulating to clarity in glimpses -- we must in general sharpen the sense of what's what. The fluid dancing and also logical and also intuitive flow of the empathic, sensitive mind can be stimulated by original writing and by presentations with artistic sensitivity of graphical components on flat screens.
